Shillong, May 28: Secretary of UDP Shillong City District Titot Sing Suchiang has said the selection and finalisation of the bypoll candidate for Shillong Lok Sabha seat was done without consultations.
“The selection, we believe, was done without proper consultation with the party’s workers especially the Shillong City District which happens to be the base of the candidate”, Suchiang said in a letter addressed to the party president Metbah Lyngdoh on May 26.

“Therefore, we respectfully request you to immediately address these matters. As concerned party workers, we look forward to your prompt and timely response in addressing these issues”, the UDP secretary said.
