Shillong, June 11: Umiam water level has increased by five feet from the 3165 feet in May last to 3170.34 recorded on Sunday at 6 pm.
The rain for the last two days since Friday helped to improve the situation.

However, the full capacity of the Umiam dam is 3220 feet and 50 more feet are needed to reach the maximum level.
