Union agriculture minister opens more facilities at College of Agriculture in Kyrdemkulai

Shillong, Jan 5: Union Minister for Agriculture and Farmers’ Welfare Narendra Singh Tomar has inaugurated the administrative cum academic block office of the College of Agriculture at Kyrdemkulai.
He also inaugurated the Girls Hostel of the College, on Thursday.
“Northeast is of utmost importance. It is home to different cultures. It is rich in natural resources and is blessed with a good climate. Northeast is the heaven of our country and Meghalaya’s geographical scenario is such that we can develop it if we try with all our efforts”, said the union minister while addressing the North East Krishi Kumbha – 2023 & 49th Foundation Day later in the day at ICAR Research Complex for NEH Region, Umiam.
The highlights of the North East Krishi Kumbha – 2023 include live demonstrations and exhibition of recent technologies through the 102 number of stalls, by the host institute and its regional centers along with all the ICAR institutes in the region viz, NRC on Orchid, Mithun, Yak, CPCRI, NBPGR as well as different Institutes and organizations like NESAC, Central Agricultural University, Assam Agricultural University, NABARD, Coffee Board of India, NECBDC, state departments of all the eight states and others. The cultural event and ethnic food stalls added flavour blending the entire development of agriculture with the rich region-centric traditions.
