Shillong, July 31: A student of the University of Science and Technology (USTM), Baridua, Ri Bhoi was found dead at USTM Boys’ hostel on Tuesday evening.
A police official said a suicide case was reported at the hostel . “During enquiry it was found that one Md Hafijur Rehman, studying in cass-XII, allegedly committed suicide by hanging in his hostel room’, the official said.

His two other room mates were not present when the incident occurred.
The victim is from Goalpara.
His body was shifted to Nongpoh civil hospital for postmortem following which it will be handed over to the family.
