Shillong, Apr 30: A private vehicle was set ablaze by goons in the early hours on Tuesday in Jowai.
According to the police, on Tuesday around 2.30 am, some miscreants set on fire one private gypsy which was parked in an open space in Police Reserve,Jowai.
The vehicle was completely burnt.
It belonged to Jrom Lyngdoh, who works as mechanic in the MT branch Police Reserve.
Arson attempt
The miscreants had also attempted to burn a bus of 3rd Meghalaya Police Battalion that was parked near the road towards district jail. However, the security personnel on night duty in Police Reserve office saw the fire and alerted the personnel staying nearby and they managed to put off the fire. The bus used to ferry battalion personnel on office duty daily from Jowai to Sahbsein, West Jaintia Hills.
