Vice President arrives in city

Shillong, Oct 16: Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar has arrived in the city on Wednesday.
Chief Minister Conrad Sangma, cabinet minister Ampareen Lyngdoh, Rajya Sabha member WR Kharlukhi, DGP Idashisha Nongrang, Chief Secretary DP Wahlang among others received the vice president at Upper Shillong Helipad.
After visiting the Governor at Raj Bhavan, he will proceed to State Convention Centre for further proceedings.
He will open the Meghalaya Skill and Innovation Hub at Mawdiangdiang, New Shillong.
The vice president will visit IT park and meet the chief minister and senior officials.
Later in the evening, he will grace the cultural evening and state reception at Durbar Hall Raj Bhavan.
On October 17, at 8.15 am, the vice president will plant saplings ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ at Raj Bhavan, Shillong
At 10.15 am, the vice president will visit Arwah cave, Nohkalikai falls and seven sister falls in Sohra following which he will leave for Guwahati airport.
