According to the FIR, the woman, who works in a tea stall, said that she is the victim of online abuse and pointed out that a screenshot of post that has been supposedly shared by ROT Association of Meghalaya (RAM), East Khasi Hills unit on May 7 at 9.40 pm mentions about a man, who is from Assam.

The man claims to be Covid positive besides being HIV-positive   while also stating that after he had spent time with the woman and her friend in Shillong, there is a need to trace her since she can spread the virus.

However, the woman said she never met the man though he claimed that he took her photos at the tea stall.

What annoyed the victim is that she and her friend were termed as prostitutes by the accused.

The FIR said that the allegation of the man is not true and following the post, she is emotionally and psychologically disturbed.

The woman sought action against the accused under various sections of IPC for sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and act intended to outrage the modesty of a woman.

She said her reputation and integrity were tarnished by the author of the post and those who shared it.
