Shillong, July 21: A statue of Swami Vivekananda was unveiled at R&R Colony in the city on Sunday.
Swami Hitakamanandaji Maharaj, Secretary of Ramakrishna Mission, Shillong, and Animal Husbandry Minister A L Hek was at the unveiling ceremony. Members of the R&R Colony Welfare Society were also present.

The statue was installed in the locality’s park opposite Tagore Memorial L P School. The residents have decided to put up the statues of Swami Vivekananda, Rabindranath Tagore and Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose — the three revered figures of the nation.
Netaji’s bust was inaugurated on January 23, 2023.
