Shillong, July 4: The Court of B. Joshi, Special Judge (POCSO), Mendipathar, North Garo Hills District has convicted a man for peeping while a girl was taking bath.
In a statement related to the court order on June 13, North Garo Hills SP Swapnil Pawar said on Friday that the man identified as Mikseng B. Marak, son of Jennitson K. Marak, a resident of Daram Tekalang, was convicted under Section 354C of Indian Penal Code and sentenced him to simple imprisonment for one year and fine of Rs. 1,000
As per the received FIR, it was informed that on 26.12.2019 around 4:00 pm, Mikseng peeped while the girl was taking bath in the bathroom.
The investigation of case was done by woman police sub-inspector Bailine Sangma and chargesheet submitted against the accused person with sufficient evidence of the case. The trial of the case took place in the court of Special Judge (POCSO), wherein the guilt of the accused person was established and the case proved beyond reasonable doubt.
