Shillong, March 31: The State Executive Committee (SEC) of the Voice of the People Party (VPP), in its recently held executive meeting, formally approved the candidature of Dr. Batskhem Myrboh as recommended by the State Election Committee to be the party’s official candidate for the forthcoming by-election to the 1-Shillong Parliamentary Constituency.
In a statement , the party spokesperson Londoner Murphy Sohtun said the decision was taken after thorough deliberations and consultations among party leaders, taking into consideration Dr. Myrboh’s steadfast commitment to the party’s values and principles, public service, leadership qualities, and dedication to the welfare of the people.
The party called upon all members, supporters, and well-wishers to continue extending their support and cooperation, to ensure a triumphant outcome in the upcoming by-election.
