Shillong, Nov 18: VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit on Monday submitted a letter to Chief Minister Conrad Sangma seeking an independent probe into the use of MLA schemes.
In the letter, Ardent wanted the probe to start from his Nongkrem constituency.

The action of the VPP follows the recent statement of the chief minister, who questioned the opposition MLAs regarding the implementation of MLA schemes and wanted the people to file RTI queries.
Status of CM’s fund sought
In a separate letter addressed to the chief minister, Mawlai MLA Brightstarwell Marbaniang wanted to know the status of proposals under the Chief Minister’s Special Development Fund from 2003 to 2005 for his constituency.
