Shillong, April 10: The Voice of the People Party (VPP) has made inroads in Garo Hills.
VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit visited Tura, West Garo Hills on Friday and formed an Adhoc Committee aiming to bring change and combat corruption in the state.
VPP president Ardent Basaiawmoit spoke at the meeting held at Tura, expressing his happiness that the party could finally form the unit in Garo Hills, in response to the call for an alternative force.
“We call upon the people of Garo Hills to join hands with the VPP to bring a change in the state and fight against corruption,” he said.
Khronolaikh Marak has been appointed as the president of the VPP’s adhoc committee, Ronald Sangma as secretary and Ryan S Marak, Joba Marak, Tengsim Momin, Jim Reeves Momin, and Thinker Marak as executive committee members.
Abhi D Sangma has been chosen as adhoc president of the VPP Garo Zone Youth Wing, with Salchura S Sangma as secretary.
