Shillong, March 20: The four VPP MLAs led by Ardent Basaiawmoit boycotted the Hindi address of the Meghalaya Governor Phagu Chauhan on the first day of the Budget session on Monday.
Though the Speaker Thomas Sangma and the Chief Minister Conrad Sangma conveyed that the translated copies of the speech were circulated, Basaiawmoit said the gesture of the governor addressing the House in Hindi is not acceptable as the official language of the House is English.
