Withdrawal of Teachers Recruitment Notification through SPF by the Governor
“The Voice of the People Party (VPP) welcomes the decision of the Governor of Meghalaya to withdraw, with immediate effect, the Education Department Notification No. EDN.9/2026/31 dated 12 August 2026 concerning the filling up of vacancies under the State Pay Scale through the Structured Pay Framework (SPF). The VPP considers this withdrawal a partial success of its sustained movement against the implementation of the SPF, particularly in relation to sanctioned Government and Deficit teacher posts, and a positive development in the larger interest of teachers and the education system of Meghalaya.
The Party appreciates the concerns raised by individual teachers and some organisations and acknowledges the leadership and persistent efforts of the VPP President, Bah Ardent Miller Basaiawmoit, in taking up this issue. The VPP reiterates that the interests and welfare of teachers, protection of sanctioned posts and the strengthening of Meghalaya’s education system must remain paramount. The Party will continue to stand with the teaching community and work towards ensuring a fair, transparent and secure education system”.
