Shillong. Jan 6: The body of a woman with injuries was found on a road in East Jaintia Hills on Monday night.
Police suspect it to be a case of hit and run case.
It is yet to be known whether the woman was thrown out of the vehicle.
The woman has been identified as 28-year-old Lusia Lamare, daughter of Late Ksiar Lamare , a resident of Moowakhu, East Jaintia Hills.
Police will collect CCTV footage to ascertain the cause of death, an officer said.
According to the police, a team reached the Moowakhu area of East Jaintia Hills and found the woman in a pool of blood in the middle of the road at the junction on Monday night.
Though the police called for an 108 ambulance, they did not get any response. Thereafter, the woman was shifted to Khliehriat Civil Hospital in a police vehicle for immediate medical assistance, but the attending medical officer declared that she was brought dead, and the body was shifted to the morgue.
The Woman Police Station Officer-in-Charge was also informed about the matter.
