The woman reiterated that she will not call off her protest till the government is ready to fulfil the demand.

Syiem said she was totally fed up with the false promises made during elections.

“Those who win and lose in the elections have promised to give us this road but it turned out to be just a lie. Because of this, I am totally frustrated given the fact that I personally had to face a lot of difficulties due to the condition of this road. Therefore, I feel that I have every right to demand for a better road,” she told reporters.

Syiem also informed that she had already met the executive engineer of PWD (Roads) and had also written to the deputy commissioner on the matter but she is not satisfied with the reply.

When asked, she said it is not her duty to meet the deputy chief minister in-charge PWD (Roads) for clarification on the status of the road

“I am determined to proceed ahead . I will not leave from here till the government is ready to provide us with a better road,” she said.

The woman also made it clear that she has no intention to seek support from other people in her fight for better road connectivity.
