Zenith, Marcuise spar over MDA ‘misrule’
Shillong, Sept 17: The culmination of short duration discussion on failure of governance in the state has turned noisy in the Assembly on Friday after Congress legislator Zenith Sangma (in picture) was interrupted by NPP member and government chief whip Marcuise Marak. Marcuise tried to stop Zenith who was trying to explain about the MBoSE firing incident in 2005 resulting in erstwhile Congress government taking responsibility. Prior to this, Zenith pointed out overall failure of the government in containing law and order situation.
As though fed up with the criticism of Zenith, Marcuise got up and tried to interrupt the speech of the former.
As the arguments continued, Deputy Speaker tried to pacify both the legislators.
Later, Zenith concluded his speech.
After the session was over, Zenith spoke to journalists about his intention in airing varied views so that the government can take corrective steps.
