12 MLAs betrayed us and voters: Cong

Shillong, Nov 25: The All India Congress Committee (AICC) secretary in-charge Meghalaya, Manish Chatrath and MPCC president Vincent Pala said the 12 rebel Congress MLAs, who joined TMC, betrayed the party and the voters.
Addressing media persons after holding meeting with the remaining Congress MLAs and MDCs, Pala said the Congress knew well in advnce the move of the rebel MLAs led by Mukul to leave the party.
“We knew about a series of meeting held by them in this regard’, Pala said.
The MPCC president said nobody can underestimate the Congress and added that the voters of 12 constituencies were betrayed after the MLAs shifted allegiance.
To a question, he said the new MPCC team was not formed by AICC but it was the need of the hour since the MPCC wanted a new president.
Did not say George will not get ticketĀ
Pala said wrong information was given to people by MLA George Lyngdoh that he will not get ticket. “Only two days back we met and there was no question of denying ticket,”he said.
