MSSA school teachers to storm secretariat for salary
Shillong, Feb 22:The Meghalaya SSA School Association (MSSASA) has warned of marching towards the secretariat on March 2 if the state government fails to release their pending salary by February 28.
President of the MSSASA Aristotle Rymbai said the decision was following an emergency meeting on Tuesday.
“We have decided to call off the non-cooperation movement from today but will wait for the state government to release the pending five months’ salary,” he said.
The teachers launched the non-cooperation movement on December 21, last year.
“We have decided to give a two-week ultimatum to the state government to release our pending salary by February 28, failing which we will storm the secretariat on March 2,” Rymbai said.
According to Rymbai, the state government failed to utilise the additional Rs 104 crore to pay the salary.
