Shillong, June 9: The number of Covid-19 deaths on Wednesday went up again with East Khasi Hills remaining on top of the list.
The state recorded 16 deaths and 448 new cases of Covid-19. East Khasi Hills reported nine deaths, West Jaintia Hills five and one each in West and North Garo Hills.
Among the new patients of Covid-19, 152 are from East Khasi Hills, the highest among 11 districts, followed by West Garo Hills at 69, North Garo Hills at 40, South West Garo Hills at 36, Ri Bhoi at 31, South West Khasi Hills and East Garo Hills at 27 each, West Khasi Hills at 25, West Jaintia Hills at 17, South Garo Hills at 15 and East Jaintia Hills at nine.
The number of recoveries on Wednesday was 507. The number of active cases in the state has come down to 4,849.
