Shillong, Sept 2: The death of a worker from the city in Sohkynphor, under Ladrymbai outpost in East Jaintia Hills, has evoked curiosity in the context of recent coal mine deaths in the district while the brother of the victim said he fell from a building and died.
What is curious is that neither the East Khasi Hills district administration nor the police have any knowledge of Wednesday’s incident.

The family brought the body from East Jaintia Hills for cremation on Thursday in the city.
The victim Krishna Rana is from Nongmensong.
