Shillong, Aug 24: KSU assistant organising secretary Jeremiah Pohtmi was arrested on Monday (Aug 24).
He was among the five masked men, who was involved in violence on August 19, according to the police.
Pohtmi is also the president of the KSU Nongmensong circle.
Earlier, the police had arrested the president, vice president and the general secretary of the KSU.
East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police, Vivek Syiem told reporters that Pohtmi was arrested from Nongmensong for his involvement in violent incidents on August 19.
Police have sent the accused to the lower court here for remand.
“The accused is one of the masked men that the police have identified and arrested. The Special Investigation Team headed by the Inspector General (law and order) is confident to arrest more persons involved”, he added.
The SP admitted challenges in investigation since the accused are wearing masks and covering bike number plates to conceal their identities. “But we have other ways to identify them, and we are moving forward”, the SP added.
