9 Covid deaths in state; day’s case count below 400

Shillong, July 5: Nine deaths were reported in the state on Monday and the number of new Covid-19 cases was below 400, an improvement from the past two days.

Ri Bhoi recorded the highest day count of Covid-19 cases at 134 followed by East Khasi Hills at 128. The number of new Covid-19 cases is 377.

While no death was reported in Ri Bhoi, there were four deaths in East Khasi Hills. Two deaths were reported from West Jaintia Hills and one each from West Garo Hills, South West Garo Hills and South West Khasi Hills. The toll in Meghalaya stands at 871.

The number of recoveries on Monday was 448, with 177 in East Khasi Hills.
