Shillong,Nov 9: Though the Congress quarters are putting pressure on veteran leader DD Lapang to return to party, the NPP wants him to stay on.
After the Nongpoh Block Congress wanted him to return, the Mahila Congress members (in picture) met him on Monday for the same reason.

Sources said that the move was first started by Shillong MP Vincent Pala after he met Lapang atleast two times. He is in touch with AICC for a formal clearance.
However, Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong had made it clear that Lapang would stick with NPP.
Tynsong said recently he had spoken to Lapang and got an assurance.
Lapang, who had an inclination to return to Congress, is in a dilemma after the win of NPP in two seats in the just concluded bypolls.
