Shillong, Feb 16 (UNI): The Meghalaya police on Wednesday arrested two with huge cache of explosives in Ri Bhoi district bordering Assam, police said.
Ri Bhoi district police chief Giri Prasad said the explosives were recovered from a vehicle in Byrnihat area during a vehicle search.

About 305 kg of Gelatin Neo Gel Sticks and 1,200 electronic detonators were seized from the vehicle, the police official said, adding that two mobile phones and the vehicle were also seized.
“We are interrogating the two arrested persons to find out the actual purpose of illegal transportation of the explosives,” Prasad said.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case under various sections of the IPC and explosives act.
