Shillong/Pune, Mar 11 (MM & UNI): The maximum temperature in the state capital on Friday was 4°C above normal while the minimum temperature deviated by 3°C, said the Meteorological Office in Upper Shillong.
Shillong’s maximum and minimum temperatures stood at 24.4°C and 13.4°C, respectively. The days were sunny for the last few days. The sky will remain clear for the next seven days, says forecast.
A UNI report said day temperatures were markedly above normal (5.1°C or more) in many places over Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.
Temperatures were also high in a few places over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Himachal Pradesh and were appreciably above normal (3.1°C to 5.0°C) in many places over Saurashtra, Kutch, Konkan, Goa, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura.
