Increase in rainfall activity till April 5

Shillong,April 1: Increase in rainfall activity over Northeastern states during April 1-5 was predicted.
According to Meteorological department, moisture incursion is very likely to occur due to strong lower level southerly/ southwesterly winds from the Bay of BengalĀ to Northeast India during April 1-5 . “Under its influence fairly widespread to widespread rainfall activity with isolated heavy to very heavy falls very likely to occur over northeast region from April 1”, it said.

As per the weather bulletin, a cyclonic circulation lies over Northeast Bangladesh & neighbourhood and extends upto 0.9 km above mean sea level. “A trough from east Bihar to northwest Bay of Bengal at 1.5 km above mean sea level also persists”, it said.
