Tribute to Tagore in Rilbong
Shillong, Aug 8: On the occasion of Rabindranath Tagore’s 81st death anniversary, Tagore lovers of the city paid tribute to him at Brookside, Rilbong, on Monday morning.
The chief guest, Chief Justice of Meghalaya High Court Sanjib Banerjee paid floral tribute to the statue of Tagore besides lighting a lamp.
He also paid tribute to the memorial plaque at the entrance of Brookside bungalow.
The chief justice expressed joy due to the homely atmosphere of Brookside where Tagore had stayed once and extended his greetings to all Tagore admirers of Shillong.
The programme was organised by Malabika Bisharad on behalf of all Tagore admirers.
She thanked the DC, East Khasi Hills for giving permission to organise the programme and the Director Arts and Culture for giving NOC. She also expressed gratitude to all the members of organising group(Shillong Tagore lovers).
