Second round of border talks after I-Day
Shillong, Aug 9: The second round of border talks to deal with the remaining six areas of difference will be held between Meghalaya and Assam after the Independence Day celebrations.
The chief minister told this to a delegation of the Synjuk Ki Rangbah Shnong Border Area Raid Nongtung, a conglomeration of traditional headmen, on Wednesday.
The traditional heads wanted the intervention of the chief minister to retransfer 18 of 34 villages under Raid Nongtung under Block II to Meghalaya.
After the meeting, Sangma told reporters that after he met recently the Chief Minister of Assam during the Niti Ayog meeting, it was decided to have the meeting after August 15.
“We will have to take Karbi Anglong District Concil also into confidence”, he added.
