BJP decision to withdraw support to NPP-led govt within a month
ED, CBI to come after NPP leaders after gathering proof
Shillong, Sept 3: The BJP plans to withdraw support to the NPP-led government within a month.
The matter was discussed in the meeting of the state BJP chaired by BJP national general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh on Saturday.
Speaking to reporters, the BJP central leader in-charge Meghalaya, Chuba Ao ( in picture by MM) said that within a month a decision will be made to withdraw support to the NPP-led government.
Party leaders pointed out that the BJP is not happy with the style and functioning of the NPP in terms of utilisation of central funds, implementation of smart meter and saubhagya schemes, illegal coal mining and the harrasment of party leaders and members in Garo Hills following the arrest of state BJP leader Bernard Marak who is accused of running a brothel in his farm house in Tura .
BJP to follow up corruption cases
Ao said that the party has sent ‘people’ to collect evidence and papers on various scams in the state so that the matter can be taken up with enforcement directorate and CBI.
“Our people are on the job . We need to collect documents before proceeding with the enforcement and the CBI”, Ao said.
BJP may keep away NPP after 2023
The BJP leadership is also annoyed over the recent statement of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma in New Delhi that the party will go it alone for the upcoming Assembly polls in Meghalaya.
No govt without BJP in 2023
Ao hinted that the BJP may not go with the NPP in the post poll scenario, at the same time asserting that no government can be formed without the BJP in 2023.
“No government can be formed without the BJP in 2023 , that is for sure”, Ao said.
According to another party leader, the BJP may go the Manipur way in keeping a distance with the NPP in the post poll situation in 2023.
