Rooter to host India’s maiden tri-nation Valorant Esports C’shiprooter

New Delhi, Jun 2 (UNI): India’s leading game streaming and eSports platform Rooter will host the country’s first-ever Tri-nation Invitational Valorant Championship — ‘Rise of Legends 2021’, which will begin on Thursday.

The eight-day tournament will see participation from 16 top teams from India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka.

Released globally in June last year, Valorant is a free-to-play multiplayer tactical first-person shooter developed and published by Riot Games, California.

Players play as one of a set of agents having unique abilities, characters designed based on several countries and cultures around the world. In the main game mode, players are assigned to either the attacking or defending team with each team having five players on it.

Rise of Legends will have eight teams representing India- Team Mahi, Rebellious Gaming, Enigma Gaming, ForceOne Esports, Global Esports, Reckoning Esports, GodLike Esports, Samurai Esports.

From Sri Lanka, Zegg eSports, Xiphos Outplay, WG Gunslingers, Mist Walkers will be the top four contenders.

Meanwhile, Mercenariez, Zeusaberz esports, Lariox, GSC Headhunters are the top teams representing Bangladesh.

All the 16 teams will compete against each other in the league-cum-knockout tournament for a massive prize pool worth Rs 4,00,000.

From day 1 to 4, four groups of four teams will play against each other. The top teams from each group will face off in the semi-finals, where the winning teams will move on to the winner bracket grand finals, and the losing teams will face off for the loser bracket finals.

The Rise of Legends 2021 will be a compilation of 48 hours of premium-produced content to be streamed across 20 Channels and 3 platforms – Rooter, Facebook & YouTube.
