Shillong, Feb 17: Meghalaya police official Amit Sinha,who is attached with the office of the Superintendent of Police, Ri Bhoi, passed away following a road accident in Gurgaon on Saturday early hours.
Ri Bhoi SP Jagpal Sing Dhanoa said the Unarmed Branch Sub Inspector Amit died in the accident around 3 am.
He was on an official visit to Delhi and at the time of the incident, he was travelling with his friend Digvijay Singh.
As per the FIR by Digvijay, they had gone to have food at sector 58 Gurgaon and while they were returning in the vehicle which was driven by Digvijay, a vehicle hit their vehicle from behind which led to the accident.
Amit was declared dead by the medical officer at Sanar International hospital Gurgaon and driver Digvijay also received multiple injuries and is admitted in the hospital .
