Hek meets union health minister, seeks medical seats for NEIGRIHMS

Shillong, July 12: Health Minister AL Hek met Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Mansukh Mandaviya in Delhi on Monday and urged him to increase medical seats and to appoint more medical specialists in NEIGRIHMS.

Hek also raised undue delay in appointing a permanent Director and Board Director of governing body of NEIGRIHMS.

The health minister assured Hek to sort out the delay in the appointment of a permanent Director and Board Members of governing body of NEIGRIHMS at the earliest.

Hek also sought more funds to improve the health care system at the village level and block level.

The union minister assured to provide adequate funds to the state.

Directorate of Ayush

Hek met union Ayush Minister Sarbananda Sownowal and submitted a proposal for setting up of the directorate of AYUSH at the cost of over Rs 3.84 crore which will also include creation of posts at district hospitals (DHs) PHCs and CHCs.

ESI hospital

Hek also met Union Minister for Labour, Employment and Petroleum, Rameshwar Teli, who assured to sanction a 50-bed ESIC hospital in Shillong.
