
Shillong, March 26: The state cabinet has given nod to the appointment of retired IAS officer and former chief secretary Rebecca Suchiang as the next Chief Information Commissioner.
This is the second post retirement assignment for Suchiang who had served as Director General of Meghalaya Administrative Training Institute.

MDA government spokesperson and cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh announced the decision of the cabinet, on Wednesday.
The post was vacant after the former chief information commissioner H Nongpluh was appointed as a member of Meghalaya State Human Rights Commission in November last year.
Suchiang will be the first woman chief information commissioner and she will have a tenure of three years.
