Govt messed up railway projects in Khasi Hills region

“They have messed up. We are in a mess because of an incompetent government,” Sangma told reporters on Friday.

His response was to a query as to whether the government’s attempt to call for an all party meeting is a futile exercise since the stand of the civil society organisations is that first there should be anti-influx measures.

He pointed out that in the past his government made a headway while initiating anti-influx measures.

Mukul also wanted to know what is preventing the government from calling the leaders of political parties first and discussing it but instead, the government wanted the parties to send a nominee to discuss the matter which according to Mukul is not acceptable.

Concern over porous border

Mukul has expressed concern over porous international border.

In view of the prevailing situation, Mukul said, “Those things have always been taken up with the government of India. We had unfortunately been referring to the international border as far as indo-bangla border as the porous border.

No international border should be porous for the security reasons, for the social security and for national security”, he added.
