25-year-old killed in road accident in Ri Bhoi

Shillong, June 4: A 25-year-old woman was killed after the vehicle in which she was travelling along with others, dashed against  a truck early morning on Wednesday.

According to police , the incident occurred  around 4.44 am on NH-06 Shangbangla, Ri-Bhoi district on the lane of Shillong to Guwahati road.

The police said one 7-seater Hyundai Alcazar( AS01EV9578) driven by MD Ismail Hoque Choudhury (33), son of  Lt Islam Uddin Ahmed, a resident of Haripur, PO Kendeguri, PS Sipajhar, Darrang District, Assam along with five occupants namely  Anayatul Watus (39), son of Hazif Bashir Ahmed, a resident of  Guwahati, Gayatri Borah (25) daughter of  Biman Borah, a resident of Mangaldai, Assam 3) Pragya Dihingia(29) daughter of Lt. Diganta Dihingia, a resident of Sonari, Choraidu , Assam, Meriganka Borah (26), son of Jitan Borah a resident of Golaghat, Assam and Namrita Borah(25), daughter of Romen Borah, a resident of Bachapathar, PO Kamargaon, PS Kamargaon, Dist Golaghat, dashed against the stationary truck.

They were proceeding towards Guwahati from Shillong but on reaching Shangbangla while overtaking one vehicle it dashed against one  truck which was parked. As a result the  Hyundai was damaged and one occupant Namrita Borah (25) daughter of Romen Borah who was sitting in the left middle door of the  Hyundai received grievous head injury and was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital Nongpoh by public vehicle for medical treatment and was declared brought dead at thepp hospital.
