Shillong, June 11: Police on Wednesday acted covertly and transported all the five accused in Raghuvanshi murder case in three Bolero vehicles accompanied by police escort from Sadar Police Station here to the Court of District and Sessions Judge.
Journalists and crowd gathered outside Sadar police station and the court from Wednesday morning as gates were closed.
Police ensured that the occupants of the vehicles are not visible to the onlookers and media persons thereby dashing their hope to get a glimpse of the accused.
A police official said it was for the safety of the accused.
While the medical examination of prime accused Sonam Raghuvanshi was carried out at Ganesh Das Hospital, a certified doctor checked the health condition of other four accused at Sadar Police station.
A lawyer, who was present at the court when the accused were produced ,said the Judge asked them about their food, health condition and wanted to know about any police excess.
