
Shillong, June 22: Meghalaya police will bring two more accused- a property dealer and a security guard- who were arrested on Saturday in Madhya Pradesh, to Shillong.
They are linked to Sonam Raghuvanshi, who is the prime accused in murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi.
East Khasi SP Vivek Syiem said on Sunday that they will be brought to Shillong after obtaining transit remand.
According to Syiem, the property dealer Silome James, who is the lessee of the building at Heera Bagh Colony, Indore was arested from Bhonrasa Toll gate, Dewas District, Madhya Pradesh around 7.30 pm Saturday while trying to flee to Bhopal. He was brought to Indore and has led the Special Investigation Team to the place of occurence where he burnt a box supposed to be containing Raja’s gold ornaments, Sonam’s mobile phone, cash, a pistol among others.
However, charred remains of the box were noticed and there were no signs of jewellery, laptop or firearm which may have been taken away by them. The security guard of the building , Balla Ahirwar who had fled to his native village was also arrested at 2 am on Sunday by a splinter team of SIT , from Ashok Nagar district of Madhya Pradesh. He was brought to Indore . The two will be produced on Sunday at a court in Indore for transit remand following which they will be brought to Shillong.
Earlier, media reports had said that one of the accused in the murder case, Vishal Singh Chauhan, had used the rented flat in Indore’s Hirabagh locality arranged by James.
It was also reported that Sonam had stayed at the flat from May 26 to June 8 after fleeing from Shillong.
