Target for Shillong-Dawki road is 2026: Prestone
Shillong, Aug 1:Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong said on Friday that construction of the four-lane road from Rilbong Umshyrpi bridge to Upper Shillong will be completed by 2025 end.Speaking to reporters on Friday, Tynsong said the company undertaking the project has committed to finishing it despite challenges posed by the monsoon season.
The contractor has promised to complete the work by the end of 2025, with hurdles cleared and only monsoon-related challenges remaining, he said while referring to the package I and the four-lane road.
On packages II, IV, and V, Tynsong said the completion date for these packages is set for the end of 2026.
The Shillong-Dawki road project, implemented by the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), is progressing and is expected to be completed by December 2026, he said.
