Financial support to ADCs reform based: Paul Lyngdoh

Shillong, Aug 28: Cabinet minister Paul Lyngdoh has said the state government’s financial offer is a reform-based bailout plan aimed at preventing the collapse of the autonomous district councils (ADCs) in Meghalaya.
Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Paul said the government’s proposal is not a blank check but a conditional support that requires the ADCs to implement reforms.
The state government has formed three sub-committees to engage with GHADC, KHADC and JHADC – on its proposal to bring financial reforms that include payment of salaries to their employees.
The committees will have to submit reports within 45 days.
