Shillong, Sept 18: Legislator Rakkam Sangma was prevented from passing through Jorabat on the Assam-Meghalaya border on Thursday by the Assam vehicle associations as they resorted to retaliation following the protests from a section of taxi associations in the Khasi Hills.
Rakkam informed that Assam police helped him to pass through the area.

Many passengers were stranded due to the protests.
Ri Bhoi SP Vivekanand Singh Rathore said that protests from Jorabat to Khanapara were called off for two days after negotiations.
