Recent reshuffle proves party is supreme not individuals

Shillong, Sept 21:The recent reshuffle of the NPP-led government proved that the party is supreme than the individuals.

Whether it is the NPP, UDP, BJP or the HSPDP, it was the party’s decision which finally paved the way for dropping 8 ministers from the cabinet and accommodating others.

HSPDP president KP Pangniang said the party did not have any problem in replacing Shakliar Warjri with Methodius Dkhar, as consultations were held.

The agreement for cabinet berth sharing helped both the BJP and the HSPDP party leadership to make decisions without resentment, and they had only two MLAs each.

UDP president Metbah Lyngdoh, who was accommodated in the ministry, said the decision was arrived at after meeting all the party MLAs.

Party sources said that what went against the UDP MLA Paul Lyngdoh and NPP woman leader Ampareen Lyngdoh was their disconnect with the party members.

The duo gave more preference to non-party persons while allotting work than to UDP & NPP members, which contributed to their exit from the cabinet.

Among the ministers, loyalty to the party helped Marcuise Marak to retain ministership.
