State exempts missionary schools from mandatory use of govt question papers

Shillong,Nov 5: The state government has exempted missionary schools from the mandatory use of question papers prepared by the education department for classes VI to IX.

In a notification, the government said in partial modification to the department’s order on December 20, 2024, ‘it is hereby notified that the use of Directorate of Educational Research and Training (DERT) question papers for the final examinations of Classes VI to IX during the academic session 2025 shall not be mandatory for missionary schools of various denominations that have a robust system of conducting examinations. This exemption may be applied either fully or partially, that is, to all or to selected classes, at the discretion of the respective missionary schools
