The Manipur Petroleum Dealer’s Fraternity (MPDF) decided to call off its agitation following an assurance from the government of Manipur for security arrangements for the oil pumps.

The MPDF announced the decision to call off the agitation at a press meet held at Manipur Press Club in Imphal on Tuesday afternoon.

Convenor of MPDF, Laishram Jogendra, stated that the decision to call off the strike was taken after the meeting between MPDF members and the Home commissioner of the Manipur government.

The MPDF submitted a three-point charter of demands, which includes ensuring security to all fuel stations and compensation for damages.

All fuel pumps in the Manipur valley shut down from January 10 after the bomb attack at a fuel station in Bishnupur district on January 8.
