Shillong, March 10: Earth cutting has resulted in the collapse of a large portion of the wall of Matri Mandir, Polo Ground, Shillong, on March 9, posing risks to the devotees and damaging the property of the temple.
M/s Giriraj Construction is building a multi-storey hotel on the premises of Orchid Hotel, Polo, where the incident took place. It was reported that the construction work had earlier also caused damage to temple property.
