
Shillong, March 17: After the arrest of the accused Shabamutlang Syiemlieh (23) involved in a bike theft from Golflinks on March 2, four more accused persons, were arrested from Jowai on Tuesday.
Following this, the police also seized bikes and disassembled parts of bikes.
The arrested four have been identified as Vencentstar Tongwah,(23 years, a resident of Nongmyensong, Lumshyiap, (Kitborlang Mawlong, (21), a resident of Mawsiatkhnam, Royalroy Lyngdoh(23), a resideht of Mawsiatkhnam , Ayan Kharthangmaw, (21), a resident of Mawhati involved in bike theft cases in connection with Laitumkhrah PS C/No. 29(3) 2026 U/S 305(b) BNS, Sadar PS C/No. 78(3) 2026 U/S 305 (b) BNS and Sadar PS C/No. 97(2) 2026 U/S 305(b) BNS.
The officers and personnel from Pasteur Beat House proceeded to Jowai Police Station to take necessary action and during interrogation, the accused admitted to have recently stolen one Yamaha R15 bike from Umroi, one Yamaha R15 bike from Goraline, Laitumkhrah and one Scooty from Golf Links while many parts of the bikes present at the site are yet to be identified. Further, they disclosed that all the stolen motorcycles had been handed over to a person at Ladrymbai. Subsequently, the team proceeded to Ladrymbai Outpost and a raid was conducted in an under-construction building located at Ladrymbai, Dongwah.

During the raid, one Yamaha R15 (B/R No. ML05 AB 2991, one Yamaha Ray Z (B/R No. ML05 AE 1478, disassembled parts of 01 (one) Yamaha R15 (Engine No. G3N4E0601845, chassis No. ME1RG67HBP0013817)and disassembled parts of 01 (one) scooty (Engine No. E33SE0218026, chassis No. ME1SEJ2H8N0016166) were seized.
Parts of the disassembled bikes and scooties were packed in sacks and were found ready for sending them out.
