Shillong, March 17: The Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District, Shillong, has informed that there is adequate and sufficient stock of Domestic Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) available with all authorised LPG distributors in the district.
Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) and LPG distributors have confirmed that regular supply and distribution of LPG cylinders are being maintained without any disruption. The current stock position is stable and sufficient to meet the requirements of consumers across the district.
“However, due to transit issues, there is a delay to clear the distribution backlog from 1.2 days to 1.4 days.In view of the above, the public is advised not to resort to panic booking or unnecessary hoarding of LPG cylinders, as such practices may create artificial shortages and cause inconvenience to other consumers”, the DC said.
‘Consumers are requested to continue booking LPG cylinders as per their normal requirement through the regular booking channels. In case of any technical errors during online booking, consumers are advised to do manual booking with their respective gas agencies. The concerned authorities are closely monitoring the stock position and distribution to ensure uninterrupted supply. For the smooth and transparent distribution of LPG (Domestic), all consumers are advised to complete their e-KYC verifications at their respective agencies at the earliest,’ the DC said.
The District Administration sought the cooperation of all citizens in maintaining calm and avoiding panic, and assures that necessary measures are in place to ensure continuous availability of LPG.
For any concerns or irregularities in supply, consumers may contact their respective LPG distributors or report the matter to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner (Supply), East Khasi Hills District”, the official said.
