Shillong, March 19: A minor boy lost his life due to lightning in West Jainti Hills.
The deceased is Sumi Tariang (12 years 3 months)

The incident took place on March 15 in Umsalang under Amlarem Block, West Jaintia Hills.
A villager identified as Sukwid Lyngdoh from Moolyngkdein under Thadlaskein Block, West Jaintia Hills was injured due to storm on March 15.
Over 49,658 people were affected for the last six days due to storm,wind, lightning and damages due to hailstones in Meghalaya.
According to the official assesment on March 19, since March 13, the houses damaged were 13580 in 915 villages of 36 blocks.
The number of infrastructure damage is 113 and 14.2 hectares of crops were also affected..
