Shillong, April 19: Chief Minister Conrad Sangma concluded the felicitation of SSLC toppers.
The felicitations were held in three phases culminating in Tura on April 18.
Earlier, on April 11, 41 successful SSLC students from different Child Care Institutions felicitated in Shillong.
A day before on April 10, the chief minister felicitated the students of Khasi-Jaintia region.
On April 18, the chief minister felicitated the achievers of the SSLC examination from the Garo Hills region at a programme held at his residence in Tura.
Congratulating the toppers on their hard work, dedication, and perseverance, the chief minister stated that their achievements are a matter of pride not only for their families but also for the entire region and the state.
He encouraged the students to continue striving for excellence and to remain focused on their goals.
He also acknowledged the role of parents, teachers, and educational institutions in nurturing and guiding students towards success, noting that the collective efforts of all stakeholders are crucial in building a strong foundation for quality education in Meghalaya.
Underscoring the importance of values and character, the chief minister said, “Nothing will matter—no success will matter in life—if, at the end of the day, you cannot be a good human being. You must always be humble, remain grounded, and never forget your roots.”
He further added, “Even if you are a topper but become arrogant in life, you will not have a fulfilling life. Without humility, without fear of God, and without respect for elders, there is no real quality in life.”
During the programme, the toppers were presented with certificates and tokens of appreciation in recognition of their achievements.
