Shillong, May 4: The state government has moved a petition in High Court of Meghalaya on Monday against the bail granted to Sonam Raghuvanshi by the lower court.
Sonam is accused of murdering her husband Raja Raghuvanshi during their honeymoon in Sohra.
Four others assisted her in committing the crime.
An official source said on Monday that the court admitted the petition and the hearing will be held shortly.
The move is after the court of additional deputy commissioner (Judicial) here granted bail to Sonam on April 27 stating that Sonam was not informed why she was arrested.
However, according to the source, she was very much aware why she was arrested and the matter is reflected in various documents signed by her.
Sonam had also informed her family members about her arrest.
The argument of the government will be that the lower court ignored the order of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Ghazipur on June 9 last year after the remand application.
The Ghazipur court had also noted the reason of the arrest and the accused is also aware of the reason.
